Results and products
Impact of the project will be found in the following areas:
• Mothers’ mortality rate in the Country will decrease, thanks to an adequate transfusional therapy;
• Availability of secure blood for the treatment of child anemia and serious cases will increase of at least 15%;
• It will be possible, for the first time in Sierra Leone, to obtain the blood derivatives and so people can optimize the available blood;
• A specific path will begin, aimed at overcome the opposition of the local citizens to blood donations.
The project will also foster the responsiveness of the National Health System to unpredictable and intense events. There will be positive effects also for the NGOs working in the field of health.
