Welfare policies is targeted to reduce social exclusion by ensuring resources and opportunities to dropped out people. Social assistance represents the main part of the public action and in the last three decades increased a lot. However, as many other south European countries, Italy is defined by an underdevelopment of the social policies. The book offers a up-to-date view on this topic and identifies four different “social services world”, wich are really different in amount and quality.
