[Mutamento Sociale n.37 - February 2013]
The book presents an updated and scientifically founded analysis on the social phenomenon of homophobia, from a psychological, sociological and anthropological point of view. It also presents tools, guidelines and best practices in designing interventions to raise awareness of issues of sexual identity, the deconstruction of stereotypes and to reduce prejudice. Aimed, first and foremost, professionals (trainers, psychologists, psychotherapists, sociologists, teachers, educators and health professionals) interested in understanding the mechanisms of social exclusion and to make the most effective tools to promote individual and collective welfare, the volume is intended to offer the public concerned, some useful insights to understand the dimensions involved in the current debate on citizenship for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).
