The paper
The active ageing and the socio-demographic condition of the population aged 50 and over in Provincia di Bolzano: evidence from a social survey (by G. Viganò and D. Bolano, 2012) was presented in the framework of the
Population Study Days held from February 6, 2013 to February 8, 2013 in Brixen (IT). The intervention presented the results of a population survey made by Synergia in the 2010 in the Province of Bolzano. The study addressed two different cohorts of populations in working and social transition (50-64 y.o. and 65-79 y.o.); the aim was to identify the potentialities and expressed needs of the over-50 residents and to highlight resocrces and critical aspects connected with the retirement process. The event, held every two years, is one of the most important initiatives of the Italian Association for the Study of Population (SIS-AISP) where Italian and international leading experts and scholars, the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) and other national and governmental agencies, come together to present completed, planned, and ongoing research and to provide an opportunity for comparison across a broad overview of the issues currently debated about population and society. The paper of the authors Giovanni Viganò (Synergia, Bocconi University (Milan) - Department of Decision Sciences) and Danilo Bolano (
University of Geneva – Institute for Demographic and Life Course studies) was presented in the framework of the Parallel Session 19. Life conditions of older people.
